Bioinformatics for High School and College Instructors
Funded by the National Science Foundation EPSCoR (05-589), this workshop will introduce secondary and postsecondary instructors to the emerging fields of bioinformatics. Participants will experience inquiry-based and laboratory instruction and will receive research-based curriculum materials developed through The Human Genome Project and MS-EPSCoR.

CSEM Fellows: Increasing Participation in Computer Science, Engineering and Mathematics Through Scholarships.
The CSEM Fellows program makes financial aid available to qualified students majoring in the fields of Computer Science, Enginerring, and Mathematics.

Industry Education Partnerships
The IEP program is the successor of the REI and Learn to Work programs. The goal of IEP is to bring industry and education leaders together to improve partnerships and help to integrate workplace skills in local education.

S-STEM Fellows: Scholarships to Attract and Retain Tomorrow's Scientists, Mathematicians and Engineers. The S-STEM Fellows program makes financial aid available to qualified students majoring in the fields of Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Physics.

Completed Projects

CREST: Regional Youth Leadership for Career & Research Exploration for Students and Teachers.
The CREST project is a program for middle school students in Choctaw, Oktibbeha, Clay, and Winston counties designed to develop their leadership skills and entrepreneurship while promoting economic development of that region.

Learn to Work: Transition to the Workplace Through Manufacturing Experiences.
Learn To Work is a program designed to bring a real-life, practical understanding of scientific and technological principles into the classroom.

Research Experiences in Industry (REI): Learn to Work II
REI is an extension of the Learn To Work program.

Science on the Green - Science on the Green is a program for middle school students in Oktibbeha, Clay, and Lowndes counties designed to teach the science and art of golf.

STRIDE: Student and Teacher Research Institute - the Delta Experience.
The STRIDE project is a program for middle school students in the Mississippi Delta region designed to encourage interest in scientific research by giving students and their teachers the opportunity to work with scientists from the Mississippi Delta Management System's Evaluation Area (MSEA) and Mississippi State University.
